Corporate Pensions
As with all portfolios, pensions need reviewing and assets re allocating on a regular basis to keep pace with ongoing changes in the markets and individual circumstances. Our corporate clients trust us to handle pensions for themselves and their employees.
Many companies took out Group Stakeholder Pension plans for their employees after April 2001. These were setup as low cost, good value pension arrangements. It is now possible to get even better charging contracts although we wouldn't necessarily recommend placing all the emphasis on lowest charges only. It is possible that some funds although having higher charges may well have had better performance than their Stakeholder equivalents.
We take the same philosophy to Corporate Pensions as we do to individual pensions and review them quarterly. We find many of our new Corporate clients have come to us as they have been invested in the same managed fund for 10 to 20 years or even more without any review of these funds or performance taking place.
Many things can change in this time, from managers leaving the company to the fund's performance falling away.
In our opinion it is vital that these are reviewed on a quarterly basis.
Unlike many independent financial advisers, we sit down and make recommendations with employees individually to ensure they have a clear understanding of a pension proposition and their options. We find this is received very well by both Employers and Employees alike and the Employees gain a much better understanding of the arrangements.
